If you do not wish to renew them, include a statement of facts form (click here to obtain a REG 256) and in section G state “i do not wish to renew my tags, I wish to only get my replacement title, I have a right to my title” and sign the bottom of the form. You are not required to pay them, however, to avoid delays in the processing of your application make it clear whether you do or do not want to renew them. If your registration fees are due the DMV will ask for you to pay them. Requesting a replacement title is easy – however, there may be some issues that may come up, depending on your situation, that you need to be aware of to avoid delays in your request. This happens to many requests that are submitted by mail. After a while, when the DMV doesn’t know what to do with “misplaced” documents they will be destroyed. This will minimize mistakes made on behalf of the DMV and will help you locate your documents faster in case you needed to follow up. If you mailed out your application for a duplicate certificate of title always send it via certified mail, and always include a check or money order made payable to the DMV with the FULL VIN number written on the check. The DMV’s VFO (virtual field office – a new portal on the DMV’s website) gives people the false impression that things are instantaneasuly processed- although the request is submitted “online” – in actuality it could take way longer than you expect – it is advisable that you do this in person or through a private company like Quick Auto Tags. Don’t match the name on your identification card if it is different.Īlways include the driver license number.ĭo not send a photocopy of your documents – always send originals with a wet signature. Whether you are using the REG 227 to request a duplicate title or a private seller transfering the title of a vehicle when the title is not available, neither requires notarization.Always use the complete Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the document you are submitting.Īlways use the complete Vehicle owner name (make sure that it matches exactly as it is on the title). Section 2 is included for a lien-holder or title holder, if applicable. When using REG 227 to transfer the title when a title isn’t available, the vehicle owner will check Transfer of Title with Duplicate and complete Section 1, 3 and 4. When using the REG 227 to request a duplicate title, the vehicle owner checks the Duplicate Title box and completes Section 1 and 3. When the loan has been paid off, Section 5 allows the lien-holder to release interest and when that release is entered, it needs to be notarized. When a vehicle has been financed, the lien-holder has financial interest in the vehicle until the debt has been satisfied. Section 5 pertains to Lien-holders (Banks and Finance companies), not private sellers. It applies specifically to Section 5 which states: LEGAL OWNER OF RECORD RELEASE OF OWNERSHIP AND/OR INTEREST- Must be notarized. While it is true that the REG 227 has a notarization certificate at the bottom of the first page, it isn’t meant for most requests. Often people mistakenly believe REG 227 needs to be notarized before it is processed by the DMV. It may be used to request a duplicate vehicle title if the original has been lost, stolen or mutilated and it may also be used to transfer vehicle ownership when the title isn’t available. The California Department of Motor Vehicle form REG 227 (Application for Duplicate or Paperless Title) serves two purposes.

If the $4B value is true, then this was the most masterful fundraise ever created, with the daily sale auction gimmick. This is a contrarian post that we missed last week and that would have been a great counter to Stephen McKeon’s “The Security Token Thesis” covered in our previous issue. Michael’s argument is that all the beautiful things security tokens are supposed to enable or solve are already largely possible today, or there’s a very good reason why they are not implemented already in traditional securities (ie feature rather than bug). Michael however admits some new types of tokenized securities uniquely enabled by decentralized protocols would indeed by interesting (eg a security NFT representing a single wine bottle or vintage). I think that’s enough for security tokens this week! Estonia Scales Down Plan to Create National Cryptocurrency So he’s main point is: yes, it’s technically possible, but why on earth would you use a blockchain for that? “The token itself is an abstraction that derives value not just from the asset itself, but from the institutions that assure that abstraction maps to the value we wish to “own.”” Tokens (Don’t) Rule Everything Around Me - Thoughts On Security TokensĬontinuing on that line of thought, Parker also outlines his bearish views on ‘security tokens’, summarised neatly by this sentence: I think here the debate is starting to go round in circles because we keep calling these things ‘tokens’, when they are in fact just ‘digital securities’ and they already exist in some form. Reading the title made us go “Thank god”, but then reading the article made us go ?Īpparently Estcoin won’t be a new “currency” but it will still be some kind of token that “will proceed as a means for transactions inside the e-resident community”. In any case, an ICO for a national cryptocurrency is just a pure idiocy, while instead having a crypto-fiat, especially if with different value systems and different distribution than the current fiat is an idea that intrigues us a lot. The Eureka Moment That Made Bitcoin Possible I’m an e-resident of Estonia, so we’ll keep you updated on what it will look like in the end. The WSJ takes a super cool look at a paper mentioned in the Bitcoin paper. This specific paper resulted in a company, Surety, and a patent: the first blockchain patent, with the use case of time-stamping digital files - a use case much touted about today, but that has been possible to achieve since the 90's. #Cryptocat author for backing to build code#.#Cryptocat author for backing to build software#. Their results can provide a more detailed understanding of the chemical interaction and eventually open the way for new, improved treatments for cardiovascular disease. "What we need to do now is establish that the endogenous NO-ferroheme that's formed in endothelial cells really is a true signal substance and ascertain exactly how it gets synthesised in the body," says Professor Lundberg. The researchers found that NO-ferroheme significantly expands the blood vessels of mice and rats, and that in controlled experiments directly activates guanylyl cyclase, thus acting as a signal substance in the signal cascade. Together they form a new and much more stable compound: NO-ferroheme. The KI group has tested the hypothesis that NO bonds with a "heme group," a complex surrounding a single iron atom that is found in haemoglobin and that is freely available also in endothelial cells. Since it has also been difficult to demonstrate the presence of free NO in the cells, the actual signalling mechanism has long been a mystery. "It's hard to believe that it can work, since NO is so reactive and volatile that it ought to have trouble surviving that journey," says Professor Lundberg. It is a journey over a distance of less than a millimetre, but it is a long way for a molecule. For almost 40 years, the hypothesis has been that it then diffuses as a gas, spreading out randomly until it encounters an enzyme called guanylyl cyclase in the vascular smooth muscle, upon which the vessel relaxes. The NO is formed in the endothelium, the tissue that constitutes the inner lining of blood vessels. "It's a little controversial, something of a paradigm shift in the field, in fact," says Professor Jon Lundberg, who is the main author of the paper together with Andrei Kleschyov and Mattias Carlström, all of whom are at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet. However, the results now presented surprisingly indicate that it is not the NO molecule per se that is the active partner in the chemical interaction. This is also why nitroglycerin, which releases NO, has long been a common treatment for angina. One of its functions is to initiate a signalling cascade that causes the smooth muscles of the vasculature to relax, thus expanding the vessels and lowering blood pressure. For example, the discovery of the compound's significance was awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. That the simple molecule nitric oxide or nitrogen monoxide (NO) serves as a signal substance in many important physiological processes has been known for some time. Sherlock holmes prey tell missing rifle11/24/2023 Holmes can't be in two places at once, so either way, Moriarty wins. If Holmes had immediately deduced the truth and gone to the hotel to stop the bomb, he would've stopped the bomb, but Moran would still be on the roof to assassinate Meinhard. Not only did he outmaneuver Holmes (by leaving a trail of false breadcrumbs to trick him into going to the opera instead of the hotel), he had a backup plan in case Holmes caught on. It's just one more example of Moriarty's Chess Master tendencies. He deliberately left little clues to draw Holmes on. But Moriarty wanted to play his game with Holmes and match wits with him. He could have easily - very easily - had Moran set up outside the university and just shot Holmes in the face when he showed up to the university to chat. For Moriarty, its the game of shadows he and Holmes are playing.
Parkdale elementary labor day11/24/2023 McGuire, who organized a similar parade in New York City on 5 September that year. Ten years later, on 22 July 1882, a huge labour celebration in Toronto attracted the attention of the American labour leader Peter J. Such events assumed political significance in 1872, when a labour demonstration in Toronto in April 1872, in support of striking printers, led directly to the enactment of the Trade Union Act, a law that confirmed the legality of unions. However, the origins of Labour Day in Canada can be traced back to numerous local demonstrations and celebrations in earlier decades. Labour Day ( French: Fête du Travail) has been marked as a statutory public holiday in Canada on the first Monday in September since 1894. Main article: Labour Day (Canada) A Labour Day parade in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the early 1900s For many residents and visitors to the Bahamas, the afternoon of Labour Day is a time to relax at home or perhaps visit the beach. Bands in colourful uniforms, traditional African Junkanoo performers, and members of various labour unions and political parties are all part of the procession, which ends up at the Southern Recreation Grounds, where government officials make speeches for the occasion. In the capital city, Nassau, thousands of people come to watch a parade through the streets, which begins at mid-morning. Labour Day is meant to honour and celebrate workers and the importance of their contributions to the nation and society. The traditional date of Labour Day in the Bahamas, however, is 7 June, in commemoration of a significant workers' strike that began on that day in 1942. Labour Day is a national holiday in the Bahamas, celebrated on the first Friday in June in order to create a long weekend for workers. However, Bangladesh does observe May Day on 1st May. Bangladesh īangladesh Garment Sramik Sanghati, an organization working for the welfare of garment workers, has requested that 24 April be declared Labour Safety Day in Bangladesh, in memory of the victims of the Rana Plaza building collapse. Their direct action protest was a success, and they are noted as being among the first organized workers in the world to achieve an 8-hour day, with no loss of pay. On this day, stonemasons and building workers on building sites around Melbourne stopped work and marched from the University of Melbourne to Parliament House to achieve an eight-hour day. The first march for an eight-hour day by the labour movement occurred in Melbourne on 21 April 1856. It is on the fourth Monday of March in the territory of Christmas Island. In Queensland and the Northern Territory, Labour Day occurs on the first Monday in May (though the latter calls it May Day). In Western Australia, Labour Day is the first Monday in March. In Victoria and Tasmania, it is the second Monday in March (though the latter calls it Eight Hours Day). It is the first Monday in October in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and South Australia. In some states the date commemorates the Eight Hours Day march (see below). Labour Day in Australia is a public holiday on dates which vary between states and territories. Other dates Australia A May Day parade in Brisbane in 2017 Some countries have a holiday at or around this date, but it is not a 'Labour Day' celebration. Some countries vary the actual date of their celebrations so that the holiday occurs on a Monday close to 1 May. For most countries, "Labour Day" is synonymous with, or linked with, International Workers' Day, which occurs on 1 May. Benefitnow account11/24/2023 The FBI reported that Americans lost more than $57 million in phishing scams alone in 2019. Phishing scams are popular because of the accessibility of reaching large numbers of people through email and text messages. Their goal is to access your personal accounts, such as email accounts and bank and other financial accounts. The information they want includes passwords, Social Security numbers, account numbers and more. With phishing, scammers use texts and emails to trick individuals into giving up personal information. Unless you pay close attention to your daily bank transactions, you may not notice the scam until much later. Upon receiving the draft, your bank will transfer money from your checking account to pay the scammer. Once the scammer has your checking and bank information, they put it on demand draft, which is processed like a check but doesn’t require a signature. They often play this off as a way to verify that you qualify for the offer. The goal is to get you to read off the numbers at the bottom of your personal checks. The way this scam works is that individuals receive a phone call or postcard indicating that they’ve won a prize or qualified for a special offer. Scammers like automatic withdrawals too, but for other reasons. Automatic Withdrawal ScamsĪutomatic withdrawals are a great way to automate your savings, pay bills and more. Be wary of cashing any rebate or refund check you weren’t expecting. Scammers are counting on your blindly accepting the check as free money and cashing it. Scammers use tactics like this to get you to authorize memberships, loans and other longer-term commitments that could cost you dearly. There’s a chance that you are entering into a legally binding contract by signing the check and cashing it. Inspect the check thoroughly, paying close attention to any fine print on the front or back. Have you ever received a check in the mail that you weren’t expecting? It could look like a rebate check or a refund for overpayment. So, when the check doesn’t clear, the funds are held against your account. However, the clearing process can take several days. You can deposit the check and pull cash from your account to pay the person their funds. They may mention that they don’t have an account at this particular bank but need the money. An individual approaches you outside of a bank or other financial institution asking if you will cash a check for them. This scam preys on the compassion and generosity of other people. Check-Cashing ScamsĪnother scam involving checks is the check-cashing scam. You’re also out any funds you wired to them and the product if you shipped it. Unfortunately, since the check was fake, you could owe the bank a returned check fee. Then, they ask you to deposit the money in the bank and wire the difference back to you. Overpayment scams typically begin with someone sending you a counterfeit check or money order for more than the amount owed. If you provide services or sell products online, you could fall victim to an overpayment scam. Mint app requirements11/24/2023
Chop suey inn on green springs highway11/23/2023 His father, Fred Shunnarah, immigrated to the United States from Bethlehem at the age of 16 and worked his way up the business ladder in meat markets. His mother’s knack for baking even helps provide some of the various cakes and deep fried pies sold in the restaurant. Shunnarah describes his father and mother as great cooks when he was growing up. His cooks have been with him for almost a decade and know everything should be cooked how Shunnarah likes it. Having a love for food is like second nature for Shunnarah. “Otherwise the chicken tenders and Philly cheese steak hoagies are the best choice.” “If you’re looking for something on the healthy side, I’d definitely go with the chicken kabob special,” Shunnarah said. It shows through his passionate gleam as he tells first timers what to order. Shunnarah is proud of his freestanding restaurant on Green Springs, which was originally located next door to Chop Suey Inn. He even said he lost about 25 pounds during these exciting opening weeks. With people coming in and out of the doors constantly those first two weeks, the staff hardly got any sleep. Shunnarah remembers the restaurant really taking off as soon as the doors opened. “The restaurant is fast casual and everything is flavored,” Shunnarah said. In a 2009 competition with various local eateries, The Birmingham News awarded the restaurant “Favorite Chicken Tenders.”Īlthough the Baskits offers breakfast and dinner, lunch makes up about 45 percent of their sales, with the chicken tenders being their number one seller. I ate at numerous fried chicken restaurants and knew I could come up with a way to make them better,” owner Paul Shunnarah said.Īfter spending endless hours in the kitchen, Shunnarah was finally able to satisfy his taste buds with the perfect marinade and sauce. “I was never satisfied with chicken tenders at other restaurants. With its distinct homemade batter and fresh sauce, the fried chicken tenders at the Baskits are unlike any others. Wizard pinball game11/23/2023 Nick says you should check with anyone else living in the home that they can tolerate-the exciting new furniture. Pinball machines are typically six feet high, two-and-a-half feet wide and five feet long. 'They take up more room than you might imagine.' 'But before enjoying all those many hours of fun and a great investment, you must first make sure there is enough space in the home,' he says. This is because in addition to their different themes, games differ in levels of skill and strategies required to win. Yet pinball fanatic Nick Marshall, 36, of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, a top-ranked British pinball player with a dozen machines, says: 'There is no substitute for pinball and a key problem for collectors is once they have played the game they are addicted - few stop at buying just one machine.' Most pinball machines have vanished from pubs and clubs, muscled out by electronic games and quiz machines, which started to gain popularity in the Eighties.
